What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain In A Person With Diverticulitis?

I was recently diagnosed with diverticulitis. Just completed almost 2 weeks on antibiotics. I am experiencing a lot of pain again past 2 days tonight pretty bad. Just took more Advil and have heating pad. My doctor wasn t in today, in tmrw and will speak in the morning. However, contemplating going to emergency room since pain is pretty bad.

You need to get to the ER for a ct scan with contrast of your abdomen since you may have developed an abscess around the area of diverticulitis and you may need surgery for this
