What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain, Poor Appetite And Weight Loss In A Teenager?
My (19)daughter s symptoms are: severe abdominal pain. Loss of appetite with 40 lb weight loss over 4 months. Swallowing food or water exacerbates pain. And she is developing a fear of swallowing because of the pain. Many tests and procedures have been performed but until today there was no evidence for her symptoms. An Endoscopy today ruled out ulcers but did reveal gastric bleeding. several biopsies were done but it will be days before we get results. My question is what other conditions could cause gastric bleeding? She is an insulin dependent Diabetic. She also has multiple other autoimmune conditions. Thank you...we just need to have some idea of the various possibilities for her illness. Thank you Jessie Orphey Winn
I suggest you take Tab. Neurobion forte. I advise you to take up an ECG/EKG to rule out any cardiac changes... and it is also advisable to undergo an MRI lumbar and sacral region as it may give an idea about the diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Indhu Priyadharshini, General & Family Physician
