What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain Post Gall Bladder Removal?

My 61 yr old brother just had his gallbladder removed and he s running a up and down temp.. He starts to feel good but when he gets up to walk he has an enormous amount of pain around the surgery area. But, what DRS can t figure out is why shortly after his walk his temp rises from 98.7 to 102...+. ? He supposedly had a lower bowel obstruction but then they took his gallbladder out and said it was in bad shape! Do you think they might of damages something around the area of surgery???
