What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain While On Tramadol?

I have been taking Tramadol 200 mg slow release for about six months previous I was taking 50mg 3x daily for diabetic neuropathy. I have been experiencing severe abdominal pain. I have had blood work, urine test and X-rays and 2 Ct scans. Nothing is showing up. My Doctor thinks it could be the Tramadol that is causing my pain. He has reduced my Tramadol to 3 pills for 2 days and 2 pills for 2 days and finally 1 Pill for 1 day. I am now at 2 pills for 2 days. I am still in a lot of pain. I am also on a clear liquid diet. Can you please help! Does this sound like it could be the Tramadol that is causing my pain. I am a 67 yr old female. Thanks Donna Scott

Based on the facts of your query, you seem to suffer from-
Tramadol induced Hyperalgesia-with Narcotic like Bowel Syndrome(NBS).
Though this is not a narcotic drug,is opioid and is known to cause severe pain in abdomen.
Reduction of its dosages and shifting to Gabapentin CAp-300 mg x 3 times a day with increase up to 600 mg , would resolve your issues.
