What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain?

I HAD SEVERE PAIN IN THE CENTER OF MY STOMACH DURING OCT.2015. SO SEVERE I WENT TO THE ER AND WAS GIVEN A LIQUID (WHITE/MILKY) AND MORPHINE FOR THE PAIN. I HAD A CHEST XRAY FOR MY LUNGS AND AN ELECTRO CARDIOGRAM FOR MY HEART. i HAD SEVERAL TEST.. BLOOD WORK AND URINE SAMPLE. AFTER I DRANK THE LIQUID AND HAD THE MORPHINE I WAS FINE. AFTER ALL OF THE TEST ...THE DOCTOR SAID THERE WERE NO FINDINGS........DID WE MISS SOMETHING? WAS THERE ANOTHER STEP WE NEEDED TO LOOK AT? THANK-YOU

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe abdominal pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like appendicitis , consuming foods known to cause gas in some people, such as milk products that contain lactose, broccoli , crohn’s disease , gastroenteritis , irritable bowel syndrome or urinary tract infection . I would suggest you to avoid above mentioned foods , eat light and non spicy specially at night , take light walk after every meal , eat small and frequent meals .If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy along with stool test . Doctor may prescribe ornidazole , omeprazole , laxative , anti inflammatory along with antacids . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for urinary tract infection. For now take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain.
