What Causes Severe Acid Reflux Along With Frequent Urination?
About two weeks ago, I started having a pressure in my chest right between my breasts. The pressure usually lasts a couple hours and then goes away. About an hour or so later, I begin experiencing gas and then have to use the bathroom several times. What do you think this is please?
You have severe acid reflux. One of the most common cause of acid reflux is diet. Avoid taking oily, fried food, trans fat, refined flour, full fat dairy products. Acid regurgitating towards the esophagus from the stomach is acid reflux that causes pain and irritation. To get relieve you can take antacids or PPIs.
Taking fiber in your diet and staying well hydrated will give relief. Acid reflux may trigger constipation and hence cause constipation and abdominal distress like frequent bowel movement and urination. Frequent urination can be indicative of infection, side effect of certain medications, certain beverages can increase urine production. You should get urinalysis (R/E and C/S) done to detect UTI so that it can be treated.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
