What Causes Severe Anal Itching During Menstruation?

HI I occasionally suffer with intense anul itching. it seems to be more around the time my period is due, and worse at night. I was worried this could be worms, no one in the house has symtoms and it is not all the time. a bit embarrassing to go to my doctors about.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Anal itching could be caused due to two reasons:
1. Pin-worm infestation.
2. Fissure-in-ano.
Since you are having this itching more during your menstrual periods, it might be due to pin-worm infestation.
Kindly take de-worming tablet Albendazole as a single dose after dinner and can repeat the dose in a week to ten days if necessary.
Your symptoms should subside gradually. Kindly maintain good genital hygiene to prevent its recurrence.
