What Causes Severe And Persistent Headache?

fell a week ago and broke my elbow, was operated on with pins & wire band. Two days after I was released I was re-admitted due to infection and treated with iv flucloxacillin for three days. released with 6 days worth 500mg oral flucloxcillin but have a headache altho I was also taking 400mg mandafen for pain with elbow but doesnt seem to have an effect on the headache. It feels more like a migraine as it is just up rhs of head at the back and feels like dead weight in my head when I bend over or shake my head. should I be worried?

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear probably stress is the cause for your head ache. Tension headaches are the most common cause of headaches that occur on the top of the head. They cause a constant pressure or aching around the head, which may feel like a tight band has been placed around the head.

You may also feel pain in your neck and near the back of your head or temples. The pain is dull and doesn’t throb, and it’s often much less severe than that of a migraine.

Dear simple naprosyn or ibuprofen useful. Sometimes tryptophan, tricyclic anti depressants useful. Stress relieving techniques useful. If symptoms not improved consult your doctor.
