What Causes Severe And Persistent Pain In Knees And Elbows?
I was rebuilding a crib for my grandchildren much of the time on my knees putting strain on the insides if both knees. I did this work repeatedly for 2 or three days. When the project was complete I experienced pain on the inside of my left knee. It has bothered me for over a year, often feeling worse when I get out of bed in the morning or have been at rest for a period of time. When I put pressure on the area with my thumb or fingers it feels like something is moving around. There has never been any swelling in my knee at all. I have another issue with both elbows. I bought a electric powered pole chainsaw that telescopes out to about 12 feet. I used it to cut overhanging tree limbs. Apparently using this extended put stress on my elbows causing aching pain in both elbows, especially the right. I did this for 2-3 days in early May and the pain has never left but comes and goes feeling more achy than anything. My primary care doctor told me it was tennis elbow the first time and told me to rest it. I said how can I rest an elbow? I an active 59 year old retiriree? Years ago I injured both elbows handling many bags of limestone and dumping the bags slowing into a lake to raise the ph of the water for fish culture. The pain from pole sawing is very similar to the pain I experienced at the time handling limestone which took months to go away, 20 years ago and now I am 59.
It may be due to an arthritis which is an age related wear and tear of the joint. You can take over the counter analgesic like Acetaminophen and Paracetamol for pain relief. Go for hot fomenting and give rest to joint.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
