What Causes Severe Anxiety And Depression While On Lorazepam And Methadone?

My 87 year old mother lives in an assisted living community. On 10/3 she was diagnosed with a bladder infection and started in antibiotics. It was confirmed it was the correct one for the bacterial strain. My mothers biggest medical condition is major depression/anxiety disorder. A big depression/anxiety crash occurred simultaneously with the onset of the bladder infection so I thought it could have been brought on by that or I wondered if the antibiotic somehow interfered with all of the meds she takes. Tonight over the phone, I learned from an LVN at the facility that there was a lapse of at lease 3-4 days in giving her her Lorasepam and the Methadone that she has been taking for the last year since she fell and compression fractured L1. So now I m better understanding why she has been down the rabbit hole . Needless to say I and quite upset. I m assuming in those 3-4 days she was experiencing withdrawal symptoms from both drugs. So, to my question, now that she is getting them again and she has been for about a week. How long should it that for her mood to stabilize again? She experienced extremity pain. That has subsided. But the unsteadiness and extreme anxiety and depression don t seem to be improving.
