Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I battle with anxiety so bad. I try to do the self talks to get myself out of it but its a problem from the time I get up and until I go to bed. It s a non stop problem unless I can get very busy. As soon as I am not very busy, It comes right back.
Self talk to try and change ideas or perceptions that may be contributing to your anxiety is important but you may need to consider adding other aspects of treatment.
You may need at least a short course of anxiety medication along with cognitive behavioural therapy sessions. Cognitive behavioral therapy is designed to help deal with thoughts, perceptions, ideas that may be affecting attitude and behaviour. It also helps to develop coping mechanisms.
It may be best to speak to your general doctor first, he or she may be able to treat you but if this is not the case, should be able to refer you to someone that may be able to help
I hope this helps
