General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of left sided back pain, tool painkillers, thinking of bladder or kidney pain but no urinary complaints, took 2 doses of Azo, have penicillin, wants to know what to do, no insurance.
The most probable causes I can think of are as follows:
Local muscular pains.
Kidney pressure pains.
May be related to spine.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consult a local Doctor or go to walk-in-clinic for clinical evaluation.
X-ray and Ultrasound would be within your expenditure and may get you the proper diagnosis particularly related to urinary system.
Tests of urine and blood.
All these will give preliminary diagnosis and get started with proper management as per the pinion of a Doctor and you may get a proper relief.
Further tests and consultation with Specialist may be needed only if the preliminary things are not sufficient or there is a bigger problem.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT and General Surgeon
