Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Severe Back Pain, Abdominal Pain And Nausea?
Woke up with severe back pain, rear leftt under ribs...nauseas also an hour ago I have had a bad stomach, mild nausea for two weeks. I am drinking water now...pain a bit better....my question...shall I go for tests to ER tomorrow.,,or rest and drink water. Should I assume this might be a kidneybstone? I did go into our ER perhaps four years ago with unknown severe pain ...tests were taken, nothing seen...told i might have passed a stone. Pain was gone by the time i left hospital.
Welcome to HCM. I am sorry to hear about your condition. I would recommend that you visit the emergency department immediately. It is not safe to assume that it is a kidney stone small enough that it will pass on its own. They will investigate you properly in the ER. If it happens to be a small kidney stone that passes on its own then you lose nothing and come home but if it is a big kidney stone or something else, then by going to the ER you are saving yourself from a lot of trouble. I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact if you have any further questions.
sincerely, Dr. Waqas Hayat.
