Hi,

Noted your history of pain in back in lumbar region only on sleeping and not on standing or walking.
This is quite classical history related to a problem that is occurring only in laying down position.
There may be compression of a nerve or rubbing against each other of the inter-vertebral arthritis part and so on.
to get a proper diagnosis you need the following:
Proper clinical evaluation by an Orthopedic Surgeon, examination and appropriate investigations to support the clinical diagnosis.
May need MRI of the lumbar area.
All these will give a proper diagnosis.
The treatment will be as per the reports of all combined together.
Also watch for any dents in the bed you sleep in.
Watch for the most comfortable posture in bed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
