What Causes Severe Back Pain Radiating Towards Leg With Abdominal Cramps?
Last night, I had horrible lower back pain that radiated all the way down my right leg into my foot. Today, the back pain isn't as bad. However, I'm having period like symptoms; lower abdominal cramps, nausea, lower back ache, light headedness/headache, and even the period smell when I use the bathroom. Is this normal?
Hi. Thanks for query. Noted your history of sudden horrible pain in the back that got radiated to the right lower leg to foot. This is suggestive of sciatica. This would have been enhanced by the congestion caused in the pelvis by the menstruation which you got the second day or will get soon as you have symptoms like that. This is normal meaning these things can occur simultaneously. I would advise you the MRI of the lower spine to see the cause of sciatica, its extent and to decide the future course of action for the cure. This may be done by medicines and physiotherapy, weight reduction and so on. If the conservative measures fail, you can go for surgery. Consult a Gynecologist if there is any gyne problems.
