What Causes Severe Backache While On Eliquis?

I know I have a blood clot and for a week I have been taking -eliquis. (sp?) earlier today I woke up with a very , very bad back ache. 500 mg of tylenol did not help at all. I went to bed at midnight after taking another 500 mg tylenol. I woke up at 1 am with pain in my thigh and I can see my leg is swollen. Hello and welcome to 'Ask me Doctor' service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Eliquis is anti platelet drug and side effects associated with it are easy bruising and bleeding from nose or gums , brown red urine or heavy menstruations in females.

backpain in your case might be due to muscle spasms or vertebral nerve compression.

so take tablet dan MR 12 hourly for 2 days and if pain is not relieved consult ortho or neuro surgeon.
