i started feelin bad last tuesday..severe aches...no fever, no sore throat..just severe aches..especially in my lower back. i went to the er they swabbed my nose and took a urine sample.said i have the flu and sent me home with zorfran and tylenol 3...told me to drink lots of water..i am getting no relief. my lower back and aches are soo severe im crying. could they haave misdiagnosed me? still havent had any fever or nausea. should i return to the er. i have a drs note sayin i can return on the 28 but the rate im going i cannot see that happening. i am in severe pain in my lower back and body
Thank for your question and concern Yes. flu can cause all there pains but there are other causes of such pains which should be checked by doing these investigations 1. Full haemogram to rule out bacterial infection and amount of blood 2. Urinalysis for infection in the urine 3. stool 4. Tests for specific infections like malaria, Typhoid, Brucella, fungal infections or viral. 4. Ct scan for any sweeling around the nose. sinuses. or throat. 5. Generalized arthritis can also give you some pains all over the body 6. X ray of the lumbar sacral region. to rule out arthritis of the back. Depending on the results then specific treatment is posible By Antibiotics if any infections Analgesics for pain Anti allergic drugs
