What Causes Severe Body Discomfort While Reducing Prednisone Intake?

Hello and thank you. I am a 58 yo male, been on oral prednisone for 3-4 years. Am in the middle of a taper. Used to be around 20-40 mgs/day. Had made it to 8mg/day with a bit of difficulty but seemed to even out over tha last few months. Am currently at 7mg/ day--this is day 5. Feeling most of the side effects of tapering mentioned on medicinenet.com except vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. With the rest of the symptoms I feel pretty awful with an overall effect of feeling like my body is being torn apart. I have had about five previous failures at the 7mg level, never made it past 4 days and usually made it only 2-3 days. Any thoughts or advice? Thank you!

I really appreciate your concern, Ideally steroid dosages needs to be tapered within short course, and not for years if you are on the steroid for long being and now tapering the dose so it would not make any difference you can even stop this at once no need to reduce the dosages hope this information helps.
