I am a 70 year old female I have severe brusing on my arms and hands. I live on a farm and work very hard, but my bruising is becoming a concern to me. I take no medications. I only take supplements. i take 3oz. of aloevera, 1ml of B/12, and 1oz of liquid glucosamine. Is there anything I can do to help my situation?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Sandhya's Response
Hello It is very unlikely that bruising of the hands would be noticed all of a sudden without any underlying issues. I see that you are also not on any medications like blood thinners and none of the other aloe vera, B 12 may result in bruising. It is important to know the duration of the bruising, if you have any other symptoms like fever or bleeding from any other orifices like nose, blood in urine or stools, etc. Please discuss this with your primary care physician and consider getting a couple of blood tests that would help us understand the bleeding time and clotting time. Tests that are needed are PT, APTT, INR, BT , CT and complete blood picture. Please get back with the results.
