What Causes Severe Burping And Abdominal Bloating In A Patient With Anorexia?

Hi there, I am currently in recovery from anorexia with a binge-purge subtype, and I m having difficulties burping. I feel gas build up in my chest and it becomes very uncomfortable and makes me want to burp, but it doesn t always happen, and when I do burp it takes a while. I understand that my digestive system will require time to heal, and bloating is going to happen, but I was wondering if this burping issue and buildup of gas is also a side effect of my eating disorder, and will it go away in time? Thank you!

Yes this definitely is a part of the disease of eating habit. It also happens in Anorexic patients due to high acid content in stomach. It also produces gas and irritates the stomach. It will go away as you heal up and you will get relief once you are no more an anorexic patient.

For relief of these symptoms, take Omeprazole as it will help your stomach acid to reduce and burping will decrease.
