What Causes Severe Calf Pain And Numbness In Toes While Suffering With Sciatica?
I have sciatica in my left leg, my latest MRI shows no change in my spine, I was able to exercise out and be pain free for 2.5 years, now I am pain free as long as I don t walk more than 2 blocks then it comes on strong in calf and over the my toes I get a numb. I have been following my exercise stretching routine as provided by pros but I have not improvement or nothing significant over the last 2 months. My options are? YYYY@YYYY
Having pain, weakness and numbness of the foot in a certain level of effort can indicate what we call neurogenic claudication. Neurogenic claudication is generally due to pressure at the level of the spine and can be caused by spinal stenosis.
If you had the MRI before these changes (pain, weakness, numbness at a certain level of effort) then you will need to repeat the MRI to rule out spinal stenosis.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
