What Causes Severe Constipation In An Infant While On S26 Gold Formula?

Hi doctor my baby is 2mths,I was breastfeeding wen she was born til the 1st of july since I m preparing to go back work. Nd I m feeding her s26 gold 2days passed without her going to the toilet,is this normal?wat can I use 2release her? Bt she s not crying nothing she eats normally

Hi,

Constipation is more likely in formulated babies. Breast milk contains oligosaccharides which helps soft stools.
- You should try to continue breast feed the baby ..even if you start working
- By keeping some expressed breast milk preserved in freeze (can be preserved for 24 hours.) Baby should be fed with warming breast milk in double boiler. Baby should be fed with boiled bottle&nipple each time. Some formula can be supplements, if the milk is insufficient &continue feeding after you return home.
- You can change the formula with oligosaccharides, in consultation with her doctor.
