Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain you are suffering from DRUG INDUCED
CONSTIPATION and the best treatment is the cessation of the medication if possible along with the intake of laxatives and stool softeners..
Due to intake of antibiotics there is destruction of the good bacterial flora in the intestine which is responsible for digestion and absorption and there is disturbance in the normal functioning of intestines leading to constipation and at times severe
diarrhoea..
If possible either get the dose of the antibiotics reduced by your
dentist or get the antibiotic changed..
As of now you can take 1 DOCUSATE AND 2 SENNA tablets in the morning and 1 docusate and 3 senna tablets at night , along with diagene or
milk of magnesia..
You can also drink plenty of water and incorporate more of fibres like raw fruits and vegetables..
You should walk for atleast 15 to 2O minutes..
Luke warm water sipped throughout the day can be helpful..
If still the condition does not resolve consult a Gastroennterologist so that he can evaluate the condition and can advise you
Bisacodyl suppositories along with oral medicines..
Being a dental expert i would like to suggest you that for an infected tooth you should not only rely upon medicines and get the tooth treated with either
root canal treatment or extraction depending upon the condition of the tooth as only medicines will give temporary relief..
Hope this information helps..
