What Causes Severe Cough And Breathing Difficulty?

I ve had a few nasty coughing fits today, the first was scary as i m not sure if it caused a laryngral spasm, as i struggled to breathe after coughing. Then this evening i had another coughing fit but this time i had awful pain, in the top of my back (inbetween my shoulder blades), radiating through to my chest. The pain felt like a million pin pricks on my skin, and that was the same feeling for in my back and chest. I just want to know why as i have never experienced pain like this when coughing.

Chest pain while coughing indicates you should have a chest x ray. Are you a smoker? Could indicate a viral or bacterial infection and even a tumor. Suggest you see a physician and get a check - up.
