What Causes Severe Cough And Wheezing In An Infant?
Hi my son is 5 and a half months old . For about 2 and a half weeks him and his sister have been sick . Sneezing ,runny nose , watery eyes and my daughter (2 years old) had a fever of 101.8 we broke the fever a. She s now better however they both have a nasty cough our sons cough sounds like a deep cough I m not sure how else to describe it... He has just started wheezing as well that started about 10 this morning . We can hear it if we put our ear to his chest or back and can as well feel it . We have t taken them to their pediatrics office because they recommend is not to for there has been a tuberculosis outbreak in our local school which my children have not been exposed to . What s your advice ? We ve done steam by letting the hot shower run and standing in the bathroom with him and a Humidifier
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, this is the allergic condition and some time this could be viral infection and in either case no need to worry just let runs the course of spell of allergic condition or viral infection and it will be okay, in case of long standing clinical course better to see the pediatrician hope this information helps, take care and have nice day.
