Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a productive cough for about 2 weeks. I feel completely fine other than coughing. I started wheezing about a week ago. I do have seasonal asthma and I have been using my inhaler and steroid inhaler. No shortness of breath. I started sweating a LOT yesterday and has continued on. My cough feels more productive and not as often. I haven t ran a fever until today. It is low grade. Again, I feel fine. No aches or pains. The past couple nights I have woken up with a sore back but that may be due to sleeping wrong. The pain goes away after about 2 hours.
The cough and wheezing that you are experiencing may be due to asthma but may also be due to a viral infection as you are recently experiencing some sore throat as well. In both cases, all you need to do is to make sure you do use the treatment for asthma regularly and make sure you drink well and rest as needed. If you experience any shortness of breath or if there is no improvement or you notice any worsening you will have to see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
