What Causes Severe Cough At Nights And During Mornings?

Hi Im 25 Female I have weak lungs. I just noticed I think months now that I have these weird coughing during late night right before I sleep and early morning when I wake up. Sometimes in the morning theres tiny hard plem that come out when I cough. I don t know what s happening.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe cough at nights and during mornings which could be due to infection of upper respiratory tract, allergic bronchitis, chronic pulmonary disease or tuberculosis. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to visit pulmonologist once and get chest X-ray done. Go for blood and sputum test first and get it examined. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take steam inhalation as well. Stoppage of breathing for 30 sec and coming again is due to breathlessness due to respiratory obstruction. You should take cough expectorants. Take proper course of antibiotics. Go for pulmonary function tests as well. Sip on warm water. Avoid cold drinks. You should take combination of anti allergic such as Sinarest and antibiotic medications Amoxicillin for immediate relief.
