What Causes Severe Cough Causing Vaginal Bleeding?

Hello. I woke up this morning and coughed and a load of blood came out my vagina. I have been coughing fairly hard recently but this cough was fairly normal. I had my period quite recently and this is a massive pool that all came out at once. I don t think it s period blood but is there any definitive way of knowing before I take this to my GP?

Hello,

I don't think that these two (vaginal bleeding and coughing) are related in any way. Just the cough can make the blood flush out easily increasing the abdominal pressure.

Possibly you had another issue and cough had pushed the blood out. You should do a colonoscopy and an ultrasound.
