What Causes Severe Cough Despite Treated For Bronchitis?

I have been to the doctor at least 6 times for a sinus infection, except it has now developed into bronchitis. The last trip to the doctor was on Wednesday, the 15 of February. After a series of penicillin prescriptions, steroids, and other meds, and a bad reaction to sulfur, I continue to cough constantly and now I am experiencing chest pain. It is on the top, both sides, feels like my lungs are going to explode or I m having a heart attack. However, I noticed that it is also painful to touch. What should I do?

Hello,

I think you've gone through severe pneumonia and most probably pleuritis. Highly recommend to see lung specialist. You should get hospitalized. You need immediate medical attention and treatment.

You should go to ER and get help there first. Then, follow their advice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
