Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that you have an inflammation in throat secondary to infection and it is leading to swollen tonsils causing Tonsillitis..
It can be either due to bacterial or viral throat infection..Excess coughing can be due to irritation in throat that can cause a tickle and cause coughing..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a throat swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
For cough relief she can take cough suppressants containing Dextromethorphan..
For tonsillitis a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers can be advised..
She can gargle with warm saline solution and do steam inhalation..
She can chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
She can avoid spicy and hard foods and take a soft bland diet with plenty of fluids..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
