What Causes Severe Cough While Suffering From High Blood Pressure?
I have had a cough for 15 weeks now I ve had antibiotics and steriods and on 2 inhalers and still coughing up phlegm,I also have high blood pressure which I have been on4 different meds but have now been taken off meds for blood pressure for 2 weeks .i also have a hiatus hernia and really bad reflux on Pantoprazole ranatadine and gaviscon but still have reflux , do you think the reflux could be. Going into my airways
I want to know the blood pressure medications that you are taking. Some drugs cause called ACE inhibitors cause cough such lisinopril, enalapril etc. I think you are cured of bronchitis and remained cough may be related to ACE inhibitors usage. You may need to switch to ARB meds.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
