What Causes Severe Cough With Green Colored Phlegm?

Hi doctor, i am getting cough regularly with saliva in green colour. whenever i eat curd, or any cold items i get immediately. reasently a month back i ve taken a/biotic again i am suffereing from nose block, cold, cough and continusely getting saliva which i need to spit out. what is the solution

Hi,

Green discharge with nasal blockage, cold, cough and getting saliva continuously can be due to infection in the respiratory passages, upper in particular. I would advise you the following in such a situation:
* It is most important to have a proper diagnosis so that a specific treatment can be taken to get a cure, one always goes for symptomatic treatment alone hence the recurrence
* Consult an ENT surgeon
* Do ENT endoscopy
* Do relevant tests of blood
* Do CT scan of sinuses

All these will give the best possible cause and get treated accordingly. Medical treatment may be sufficient but if there is anything surgical in nose like deviated nasal septum, sinusitis not amenable to medicines then surgery may be needed.
