What Causes Severe Cough With Pressure And Pain In Chest?

For the past 2 months I have had a severe cough. I cough up a lot of mucus and sometimes I cough so hard I have vomited. This is accompanied by pressure and pain in my chest and recently pain in my upper back and shoulder blades as well. I also have had reoccurring flu and cold like symptoms, and I am drained of energy. I went to the doctor who said it was allergies and gave me sinus medication and mucinex. The only thing that seemed to help a little was the mucinex the sinus medication made me feel worse. I am certain this is not allergy related since the medication did not work and I have never had allergies before. I am starting to become very concerned what could this be?

in my opinion probable diagnosis can be bronchitis
severe upper / lower resp tract infection
rhinosinusitis
allergic rhinitis with lrti
cough varient asthma

so now to lead to a diagnosis in my patients of similar complaints i usually request them to have
- chest xray , sputum for pyogenic organisms, and a spirometry if needed

first thing u need to do is quit smoking if u r a smoker

consult a pulmonologist and disscuss all these modalities
