What Causes Severe Cough With Wheezing?
Once every 2 to 3 months I get a very bad cough and I start wheezing like I m having an asthma attack, after about 20 minutes it simply goes away, I ve even been visited by doctors who all say I have healthy lungs, but I m still unsure about my condition.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe cough with wheezing which is due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. You should take antibacterial drugs such as Levofloxacin along with anti-inflammatory drug. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Drink plenty of water. Take hot milk rich in turmeric as it will boost immunity. Take nimesulide along with paracetamol. Apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature. Apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature. Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get some routine blood investigation done. You should get x-ray chest done and get it examined. Avoid hot, spicy and sharp food substances. Take diet rich in multivitamins and vitamin C.

After every 2 to 3 months you have severe cough with wheezing , in between you have no complaint it indicates you are being exposed to some allergen due to which when exposed you get cough and wheezing. Check out in or around your place.If no cause is found you have to go for investigation. If i have to treat such a patient i will sdvice Blood tests ,hb,tlc,dlc esr ,blood sugar, allrgy test ,ecg, sputum test for gram negative, urine routine, xray chest. In such attacks in between lungs become clear.
