Hello and welcome to HCM,
A history of pneumonia or infectious focus in lungs followed by painful knees along with swelling may be due to infection in the knee joint.
It is possible for the infectious focus to implant at a site distant from the primary site, knees in your case.
I suggest you to consult your treating doctor at the earliest for clinical assessment of knees.
Swelling, redness, increase in temperature of overlying skin and pain are features of infection.
If clinically there are features of infection, antibiotics, pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs will be required to control the infection.
Immune status also needs to be improved because low immune status is associated with infections and distant spread of infection.
Immune status can be improved by taking nutritious food particularly rich in proteins.

Thanks and take care
