What Causes Severe Cramps In The Leg While Having Diabetes?

I am 69 years old with diabetes, hypertension, acid reflux, and fatty liver. pretty normal for my age group. I do however have severe neuropathy and am told by neurologists that it isn t from my diabetes which l maintain very carefully. I am quite sure it stems from Agent Orange in Vietnam. My problem is I get severe leg cramps In my thighs ( back, front, and inside ), my calves and ankles. my sleep is really affected by this since it happens mainly when I lay down or in a restricted setting. I try to stay hydrated and strangely enough I seem to get the best relief from drinking some pickle juice. I feel no pain below my knees ( feet are numb and my fingertips). ANy direction will be greatly appreciated.
