What Causes Severe Dark Eye Circles While Having Low Hemoglobin And Ferritin Levels?

My husband has days when he has very dark circles under his eyes. Other days looks normal. He s gone through a lot since beginning of year with lung cancer, chemo, and radiation. He is to have heart valve replaced soon. Just would like to know why he gets the dark circles and if it is an indication of anything. His ferritin is low- 35 but he is taking iron twice a day. His hemoglobin is low 11.4 but good for what he s gone through.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, dark circle under the eye is pretty common condition, and with the such medical history it might be due to stress, anxiety, lack of sleep and could be other systemic reasons, with proper health and mental care it will be fine and no need to worry about this, hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
