What Causes Severe Depression While On Depakote ER, Ativan And Klonopin?

I have epilepsy. I am taking Depakote ER, Ativan, & Klonipan. My Neurologist is weaning me off the Depakote. For the past 6 weeks or so I have been extremely depressed. I wanted to committ suicide. Fortunately I have a support group in my church helping me. However, I rwad that Ativan & Klonipan both have the same side effect, depression & gthoughts of suicide. I stopped the Rx s and I feel 100% better. What I endured, was it really from stopping the drugs, or my now lower levels from the Depakote & these 2 drugs?
