What Causes Severe Diarrhea Despite Having Irritable Bowel Syndrome?

I just returned from vacation three days ago and I have had diarrhea ever since. I have IBS; however, I have been doing really well up till now. I am pretty sure that it is the stress from getting back into work, home, and other responsibilities. What would you suggest I do--I ve been taking Immodium every day.

Hello.

If the diarrhea continues for more than five days, you need an exam and stool sent from microscopic and culture and sensitivities since this may be a bacterial colitis as with E coli, salmonella, or C diff, and not just an exacerbation of your IBS
