What Causes Severe Diarrhea Despite Taking Metronidazole For Gastroenteritis?

Hi, I ve been diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis. The physician prescribed me with metronidazole to be taken every 8 hours for 7 days and bacillus clausii to be taken 2x daily for 5 days. I ve been takinh these for 1 day now but diarrhea still continue although fever never came back. Please help..

Hello,

I see that you are already under medication.

So, I recommend continuing the medications.

I also recommend to use a plain diet and drink a lot of liquids.

The symptoms will go away gradually, so I suggest you to be patient.
