Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I have a 1year old girl and she has been having diarrhea since Friday, got some antibiotics from the Pharmacy but no improvement, took her stool to the lab and the lab came back with these: Appearance: Yellow, Consistency: semi-formed, Leucocytes: scanty Please advise
Any fever? Is the stool blood stained or contain mucus? If not, and she is otherwise active and playful, we need not worry, this might improve in 3-5 days. Just give frequent sips of ORS after each stools to avoid dehydration. Giving a probiotic and Zinc will be good.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
