What Causes Severe Dizziness And Nausea While On Amlodipine?

Have been precribed amlodpine- at first it actually helped with migraine - but 3 months on and I m experiencing severe dizziness and nausea. I was told I have middle ear infection before starting 10mg amlodipine. Very tired and foggy all the time time now. My left arm pressure is consistently normal at 120 or less over 70 while right arm is always higher at 140 or more over 70 - is this normal??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to high blood pressure or ear infection.
I would recommend treating ear infection with prescribed antibiotics.
I suggest Azithromicin one tablet a day for three days.
I also recommend visiting an Angiologist, which is a specialist for the blood vessels to evaluate the arm with higher blood pressure.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
