Hello,

I can understand your concern. Postpartum depression is very common and it is not your fault. At this phase, your body is going to through a lot of changes including massive hormonal changes. These hormones have effects on moods too. So depression can be felt.

I can give you some tips that can help you. Do not think too much into future or past. Just take one day at a time. Also, don't try to do everything as you could do before. Now situation is different and much of your time and energy is spent after the baby. So it is okay if you cannot do everything.

Do not enclose yourself in a shell. Talk with relatives and friends. Do not hesitate to ask for help from others. In fact, some of your friends or relatives may have gone through the same situation and may give you tips.

See if you can have someone to take care of baby for some time so you can go out with your husband and have some change. When you will come back, you will have new energy.

If nothing works, you can ask your gynecologist to refer you to a mental health professional who can give you counselling sessions and can prescribe you medicines to cope up with this phase. Have patience that this phase will pass and you will feel good again.

I hope this information helps you. Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you good times ahead!

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
