I ve been to the doc they said I had stones in my saliva gland medications did not work. Then I had a ct for my neck/throat becouse it s very swollen and my lymph nodes are swollen as week still. No mass or tumor. My ear gets pain also my ear canal seems swollen sometimes, the outside on top gets red. Now my tonsel on that side is swollen, has a couple small white spots as well as a white clear bump. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of peritonsillar abscess with inflammation (swelling & pain) radiating to the ears & infection spreading to the lymph nodes.

You are suggested to visit an ENT & get physically examined. Get done x-ray, CT, MRI if required. Get CBC & swab/ sputum tests done to detect the pathology causing the discomfort.

You may be asked to do audiometry test, x-ray PNS to stay on the safer side. Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected.

You will be treated with antibiotic/antivirals, analgesics, etc. Your treating doctor may have to drain the peritonsillar abscess or may suggest surgery (tonsillectomy).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
