I have severe right ear pain, when I blow my nose. Also my ear hurts when on the phone, when I yawn or belch, as well as the ear hurts all the time. It feels like someone bombed my eardrum and the pain is severe. It has been going on for 2 or more weeks, and hasn t gone away. What could this be?
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.
Looking at your symptoms, you are probably suffering from Eustachian tube blockage. It is a tube which connects the middle ear with the nose and is responsible for equalization of middle ear pressure with outer atmospheric pressure. In case of blockage of tube,it will lead to negative middle ear pressure with fluid collection in the middle ear due to which you are suffering those symptoms.
You may find relief by taking the following medication: Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen,Antihistaminic like Cetrizine,Iral decongestant like Phenylephrine,Nasal decongestant drops like Xylometazoline(take decongestant only if you are not suffering from hypertension), Mucolytic like Ambroxol.
Also do steam inhalation.Avoid cold food and dust.Drink plenty of warm fluids.
If your symptoms are not improving after taking the above measures, then it would be advisable to consult an Otolaryngologist doctor.
Hope this answers your question.Take care.
