What Causes Severe Fatigue And Chest Discomfort?

My son, 16, is complaining of fatigue and discomfort in his chest and back - pervasive rather than a specific locus. He saw a doctor at urgent care who fouled his blood pressure and pulse to be normal or slightly below, and an EKG came back normal. This was last Thursday, and while the pain/discomfort has lessened, he continues to be aware of it. Any suggestions, please?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that it may not be due to any cardiovascular cause. Is there any shortness of breath or palpitations or any specific stabbing kind of pain? If not I suspect it may be due to acid reflux disease or muscular spasms. I suggest your son have a Pantoprazole and Etoricoxib. I understand he will be alright by then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
