Hi My mother is 48 years old. 2 years back, her kidney failed and went under transplantation in January 2016. Recently, she has been discover with proteinuria with the protein level of 3.6 initially. After going through some medicine, in 2 months, the level went down to 2.4. The recent creatinine level is 1.3 and the tac level is also a bit higher. Right now, she is facing intense weakness and it is hard for her to even get out of the bed. She has swollen face. The food intake is normal except with less protein. She feels cold but the body temperature is normal and She is finding hard to breath. According to the most of the specialists, the only way out is plasmapheurasis. But there is no guarentee of repetition. According to the doctor, it can repeat after a year or even after a month or two. But one of them said that it can be controlled with medication. My questions are: 1. What is the reason behind intense weakness? 2. Can it be controlled with the help of medicine or plasmapheuraisis is the only solution? 3. Aren t we getting late to save the kidney due to medication process? 4. If plasmapheurasis is the solution, how will the kidney respond in longer term? 5. What will be the life span of the kidney under regular plasmepheurasis? 6. If the life span of the kidney is limited, what after that? will she go under regular dialysis again or a second transplant? 7. Is this a fatal condition? 8. Is this a curable disease?
