What Causes Severe Flank Pain?

Boyfriend,57, drank 8 large Monster over last two days. Now experiencing severe pain at back kidney area, right side. Last took hydrocodone 325 10 at noon. Takes 3-4 of these per day. Has been drinking water, peeing clear and light. Now laying down. Your thoughts? Thank you.

I think this pain is probably caused by kidney stones or infection. I think he should do a urine analysis and an ultrasound.
