Hi your systolic blood pressure is very high , you are grade 3 systolic hypertension, this is termed as hypertensive emergency and injectible anti hypertensives will be administered in order to cause any end organ dmage once the blood pressure settles down to normal, you would be switched on to oral medicines.A hypertensive emergency (Systolic over 180 or diastolic over 120)(formerly called "malignant hypertension") is hypertension (high blood pressure) with acute impairment of one or more organ systems (especially the central nervous system, cardiovascular system and/or the renal system) that can result in irreversible . In most cases, the administration of an intravenous sodium nitroprusside injection, which has an almost immediate antihypertensive effect, once bp is controlled you would be switched over to oral medication.
