What Causes Severe Hair Fall In A Child?

My 12 year old daughter is losing a lot of hair - whenever we brush through it or even run our fingers through it. Her hair is medium length and somewhat thick. After she gets dressed for school in the morning we have to use the lint roller on the back of her shirt and pants to collect all the stray strands. She doesn t have any bald spots on the scalp. Is this normal or should I be concerned and take her to see her physician about it ??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to do a blood count maybe she has anemia. If the analysis results are normal check the level of hormones.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
